Gotta Love the Local Library

Gotta Love the Local Library

We have moved many times over the last several years and one thing that I have always found to be a special place to visit is our local library. No matter the state or the city we find ourselves in, I have been fortunate enough to walk into our local library to find the most friendly spaces for my kiddos to read a story, find the next great book to bring home, or get involved in some fantastic free activities.

This past week my daughter had the pleasure of joining an art activity led by the artist for Bookheart.

Inspired by a children’s book, she created a fun artwork project. After she read the book to the group, she helped her little artists create a beautiful picture she called a surface silhouette. You can purchase different pairings of a book and art project from her website if you are interested. We enjoyed meeting her and look forward to the Creative Art Kit we ordered coming to us in the mail soon.

A big thanks to our local library (Perkiomen Valley Library) for hosting this and all of the other activities for children and adults in our community. Also, to all of the librarians out there, thank you for all that you do to provide these priceless resources to everyone. It is comforting to know you are there to help us find a book to transport our minds to another place or to learn something new.
