Welcome to the Autism Lilypad website! I hope you find something useful here today. I wish for kindness and acceptance for all children. My goal is to encourage education and awareness of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to other children all around us. It cannot be stated enough that ASD looks different for each child. If we allow young children to ask questions early in life, then we can remove some of the mystery in the different ways they may see their classmates communicate or express themselves.
If you are wondering why a lilypad, then let me explain. My son’s favorite stuffed animal is the froggy he has had since he was a baby. I feel like I am the lilypad for him and his froggy. I just want to be supportive and allow him to know that he always has a safe place to land when he needs me.
So, I welcome all of you to hop on this lilypad for a little information, maybe a new resource or perhaps just to read about someone that you can relate to in your experiences with autism.
